Through the branches and twigs of a "lefka"

Wonderful colours in the sky yesterday afternoon, seen through the branches and twigs of a "Lefka" - "Populus something"...

Same tree in the middle of december. The Greek name "Λεύκα"("Lefka") is from its white bole. Lefkó means white.

Playing around a little...

Have a wonderful day & week!

  4. Very nice set of images. I like this "less is more" approach sometimes.

    1. P.S In my other blog "Greek Salad - a blog from Greece" I write more, even if I'm trying to keep it short there as well. Here I just want to write very few words... somehow leaving the pictures to do the talking.

  5. Hello Eva.
Thank you for your visits and kind comment to my blog.
It is true it is still a little cold here in Glyfada but, hopefully, spring will come soon. You can already see the almond trees already blooming when you walk in Glyfada.
From what I see in your blog, you like to walk also. You have even been up to the little church of Profitis Ilias up on Imittos. I have climb up there also a couple of times. This period i usually walk along the beach here in Glyfada or at Kavouri. But soon I will start going up Imittos again. In a couple of weeks it will be beautiful up there.
Have a nice afternoon and evening.

Yes, I really enjoy walking as well, so maybe we'll meet one day somewhere on our walks!
      Best wishes,

  6. Beautiful pictures. Also reminding me of a stay at Lefkas many years ago. One of the few greek islands i have visited that made a feeble impression.

    1. Thanks a lot, Steve. Really? I thought Lefkas was a beautiful island as well, but I haven't been there. And of course everyone always has his own favourites!
